Student Instrument Sales Policy:
All instruments made by a student (except the final graduation test instrument) are the sole property of the Chicago School of Violin Making. Wood for six of the seven minimum required instruments will be furnished by the school at no additional cost to the student. The student provides his/her own wood and set-up materials for the seventh instrument (graduation test instrument). These can be purchased from the school or other supplier. This instrument is the student's property regardless of test period results.
Upon graduation, the student receives his/her first violin at no cost. The student may elect to purchase from the school any other instrument he/she completes. All instruments of students who do not complete the program remain the property of the school.
Tool Kit:
The Chicago School of Violin Making does not require that students purchase tools, however the school strongly recommends the purchase of a pre-selected tool "kit". The cost of the kit is $360.00. For more information about the tool kit, contact the school.
